Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Sage AI LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your access to and use of the Paper Integrity website and scientific paper analysis service (the “Service”).

By creating an account or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

Description of Service

Paper Integrity provides AI-powered analysis of scientific papers to help users identify potential sources of bias, conflicts of interest, methodological concerns, and other factors that may affect research validity. Our Service generates reports based on the paper content you submit.

Important: Paper Integrity is an analytical tool, not a substitute for professional peer review, expert judgment, or independent verification. Our analyses are generated by AI and should be used as one input among many when evaluating scientific research.

Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate and complete registration information
Maintain the security of your account credentials
Promptly notify us of any unauthorized access to your account
Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Submit content that infringes on intellectual property rights
Attempt to circumvent usage limits or access controls

Subscriptions and Payments

Free Trial

New users receive a limited number of free paper analyses. Free trial credits do not expire but are non-transferable.

Paid Subscriptions

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly basis. Your subscription will automatically renew unless you cancel before the end of the current billing period. You can cancel at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.

Credits

Purchased credits do not expire and are non-refundable. Credits are tied to your account and cannot be transferred.

Refunds

Subscription fees are generally non-refundable. If you experience technical issues that prevent you from using the Service, please contact us and we will work with you to find a fair resolution.

Intellectual Property

Your Content

You retain ownership of the papers and content you submit to Paper Integrity. By submitting content, you grant us a limited license to process that content for the purpose of providing the Service. We do not claim ownership of your submissions or the analysis reports generated for you.

Our Service

The Paper Integrity service, including our website, software, algorithms, and branding, is owned by Sage AI LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of our Service without our written permission.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

Our analyses are complete, accurate, or error-free
The Service will be uninterrupted or available at all times
The Service will meet your specific requirements
Any errors in the Service will be corrected

Paper Integrity analyses are generated by AI and are intended for informational purposes only. They should not be relied upon as the sole basis for decisions about medical treatment, research funding, publication, or other consequential matters. Always consult qualified experts and conduct independent verification.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SAGE AI LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

Your use or inability to use the Service
Any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in our analyses
Unauthorized access to or alteration of your data
Any third-party conduct on the Service

Our total liability for any claims arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sage AI LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for any reason, including if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion feature in your settings.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.

Changes to Terms
